In June, BASF's NutriDense launched the Web Moo.0 Contest to find out how the dairy industry was using social media.

The grand prize winner is Ashley Messing, a fifth-generation dairy producer in Michigan who agvocates on her personal blog Dairy Innovation, Facebook and @armessing Twitter account.

Messing will receive registration and travel expenses to the first AgChat Foundation Agvocacy 2.0 Conference held August 30-31 in Chicago.

Messing was also the grand prize winner in the Progressive Dairyman June Dairy Month party, and she received a Proud to Dairy iPod nano. (Ashley is pictured at right with her prize.)

In addition, NutriDense awarded Flip MinoHD camcorders to Marianne Friers of New York and Nancy Grossi of California, contest runner-ups. The camcorders will allow the women to help them put sights and sounds to their slices of the dairy industry.

Friers submitted the Northview Diary blog, and Grossi submitted her Wife of a Dairyman blog, Facebook page and @wifeofadairyman Twitter account.

Grossi also posts regular updates on Proud to Dairy. Check out her profile page.

More information on the winners, including excerpts from their entries, can be found at www.nutridense.com/2010/07/19/web-moo-0-contest-winners-use-social-media-to-promote-dairy.
